REC

MINUTE BY MR.

A.

SETH.

REGISTRAR, SUPREME COURT,

20000

RAL 15 SEP 7:

25

With reference to the last paragraph of

this Despatch,

beg respectfully to point out that it does not

appear to me to be retrospective inasmuch as the words used are

"any Officer who may act as Official Receiver during Mr.

#

Shepherd's absence,

and not "any Officer who may have acted &c.

As Ordinance No. 24 of 1895 came into force

while I was actually performing the duties of Official Receiver

and which I continued performing until Mr. Shepherd's arrival in

the Colony from leave of absence, drawing previous to the coming

into force of that Ordinance the full remuneration allowed by the

Court under the Schedule to the principal Ordinance, I respect

fully submit that I mis entitled during the period that I held

the Office of Official Receiver, (after the abolition of the fees!

to the allowance which Mr. Shepherd has been allowed to draw.

(Sa.) A. Seth.
